Sabbat Countdown
The Wheel of the Year is always turning. Here is how long until the next festival: and the work it carries.
The rhythm of the Wheel
The eight sabbats divide the year into two kinds of festivals: the four solar ones, anchored to the solstices and equinoxes, and the four fire festivals between them. The Wheel moves from Samhain: the witches' new year, the threshold of the dark half : through the return of light at Yule, the first stirring at Imbolc, the balance of Ostara, the fire of Beltane, the peak of Litha, the first harvest of Lughnasadh, and the second harvest of Mabon before the descent again.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to celebrate every sabbat?
No: the Wheel is a rhythm, not a checklist. Most practitioners honor the festivals that matter to them, and the countdown helps you see the next one coming.
What is the witches' new year?
Samhain, on October 31: the threshold when the veil between worlds is thinnest and the cycle begins again.
